Sister-City Exchange with Canby
The student delegation to our sister city, Canby, Oregon, USA

Every April, we recruit the outgoing delegation, and they spend about ten days in Canby over their summer vacation.
As part of the recruiting process, applicants submit a composition about international exchange and complete an application. In the event that there are a large number of applicants, the International Exchange Association holds a meeting to complete the selection process.
In preparation for their trip, the delegates study English and Western culture with the CIR and receive guidance from City Hall.

Since 1990, a yearly delegation of junior high school students from Kurisawa has traveled to Canby for a short homestay, providing everyone involved with valuable experience in international exchange.
On March 27, 2006, the town of Kurisawa merged with the nearby city of Iwamizawa; therefore, the sister-city relationship will henceforth continue under the aegis of the city of Iwamizawa.
From July 27 till August 6, 2012, a six-member delegation of junior high school students visited Canby.
