Hokkaido Foreign Residents Support Center is a multilingual consultation service for foreign residents living in Hokkaido. We provide consultations in over 11 languages including Japanese. We provide support in many areas such as residence procedures, employment, healthcare, education, and information for daily life.


The Immigration Services Agency provides information necessary for living in Japan, such as status of residence, marriage, medical care, and education, in 15 languages, including Chinese, Korean, and Portuguese.


The Immigration Services Agency has set up consultation desks at each Regional Immigration Bureau and branch office (such as the Foreign Resident General Information center) to respond to various inquiries regarding immigration procedures, residence procedures, etc. Inquiries can be made by phone, at the desk, or by email in multiple languages.


This app can send push notifications in 15 languages ​​for emergency earthquake alerts, tsunami warnings, and special weather warnings. It also provides disaster response flowcharts, communication cards, and a collection of links for gathering information (Japan Tourism Agency).


The Agency for Cultural Affairs provides a free learning website for foreigners living in Japan to self-study the Japanese necessary for daily life. The site features content centered around videos of everyday life situations and information on daily life in multiple languages ​​(18 languages), supporting foreign learners.


 The Iwamizawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the police and fire department, prepared a flyer in major foreign languages on how to report an incident, accident, or sudden illness so that foreign residents can feel safe to report it.
